Tiny House FAQ’s

1. What is a Tiny House?
The term “tiny house” is about size, and usually refers to a 300-600 square foot house, however the term is a broad, inclusive category for small residences, some on wheels and some on a foundation.
2. How much does a Tiny House cost?
The cost varies according to the size and the custom finishes selected, with a professional NOAH certified completely finished tiny home (without furniture) starting in price from $85,000 (for 32-foot-long home on wheels)  to $115,000 for large (40-foot-long home on wheels). This pricing is through our non-profit and not available directly from the builder, add a variety of finishes to ensure you have a home that will provide years of comfortable and beautiful living for you and your family.  We build your home to National NOAH codes by a professional, experienced home builder, just like a standard home, and these are able to be moved to any of the 50 US states legally as they’re on a trailer.
3. What is the financing special for your Tiny homes?
For $500 down and with a credit score of 680, we can pair you to 21st Mortgage.  There may also be options with your bank, although some only finance homes on a foundation. We can also have a custom home on a foundation built for you, please inquire on our contact page.
4. What about heating and cooling in a Tiny home? How do I connect to water and electricity? Are these built for use off-grid?
All our homes are built with split heating/cooling systems and are designed to be connected to water and septic systems, just like a traditional home.  We believe in giving people all the modern amenities, but if you’d like to discuss off-the-grid packages and needs please use the contact page to inquire about options.
5. Are there places to put my Tiny home? What about insurance?
We are actively working on fundraising to ensure that Tiny homeowners are able to afford the lot rentals for them to live near where they work here in the High Country. Currently, Tiny homeowners are able to place homes in campgrounds, on private property, or in some subdivisions as ADUs within the region. Unfortunately, most campgrounds are closed part of the year or charge high rates that are pricey for the region’s workforce.  Tiny Together aims to correct that by fundraising for the property purchase so we can charge very low rates for year-round residents and still maintain our non-profit’s budget needs.
Here’s a couple pics of the general layout, but it can be modified from this, with a loft or a side door, homeowners can choose a slant roof with an egress so they can put a sleeping loft. We can also put in a tub, we would just remove the outside storage area.
